The Port Angeles Arts Council is a non-profit organization founded by artists to support artists and the arts in Port Angeles, Washington. Our mission statement is:
The Port Angeles Arts Council is dedicated to nurturing the vitality of the arts as an essential ingredient of the quality of life for area residents and visitors. The council is a forum for artists and arts organizations, advocates for arts education at all levels, and serves to facilitate and advise the development of art projects in the public sphere.
Our 2017 projects are the cleaning and conservation of two downtown murals with grant funds awarded by the Port of Port Angeles, a new downtown mural commissioned by the family of a late businessman [this isn't actually our project], volunteer art demonstrations at the Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts over Memorial Day Weekend, and an upcoming dinner and auction fundraiser. In addition, throughout the year we provide non-financial support to the Second Weekend Art Event, promote Port Angeles arts and culture events through our Facebook page, and work in support of our mission.
